The AMD spec I ended up with is noted in the threads. However, since then I bumped some problems which eventually got attributed to the RAM being too fast for the SSD to keep up, so I ended up putting a very fast SSD in place and everything is working fine now.
Lesson to be learned, even when a technical spec appears to have all the components working happily together, and companies like PC Solutions (that I used) approve the combinations, pushing Cubase hard can highlight unexpected issues that maybe wouldn’t be apparent to more casual users.
No easy answer to this one I’m afraid …
