I am reasonably new to digital music. I have a small MIDI keyboard which I am seriously looking to upgrade and only looking at investing in a pad controller (in case I opt for a synth instead of a MIDI keyboard). I am using Cubase 8 LE on a Win 10 laptop with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. I also use an M-Audio USB audio interface.
Can anyone suggest a pad controller that has easy integration into Cubase (without having to do a hole host of mapping from device to software) that will allow me to assign samples or drum functions to for easy insertion into my DAW workflow?
