I listened to a tutorial recently where a binaural pan plugin was added to a mix (in ProTools). It was a relatively small amount, but it gave the song a nice widening effect and made the mix sound better spaced. I’ve tried the ‘Mono to Stereo’ plugin in CubaseLE, but it’s not giving me the same effect. Also, when I apply the plugin to the entire mix, the tracks I have hard panned L and R become ‘unnpanned’ and come out both L and R.
Does anyone have any tips on how to recreate this effect without a plugin, or know of a cheap plugin that does this well?
