One thing I forgot to mention: Until Dorico 4 is out and if you want to avoid running into this issue at all, then you better work with your AirPods or BT headsets on MacOS in a different way:
Open /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup.app and in there create a new Aggregate Device. The trick is - though it is called aggregate - to only let the stereo output of the AirPods/BT headsets participate in this aggregate device, and not the microphone of the headset.
Once you created that aggregate device, restart Dorico and under Edit > Device Setup it then shall turn up in the list of ASIO drivers and can be selected.
Then, always just use that aggregate device whenever you want Dorico to play out via your AirPods/BT headset.

I have the same problem and it was impossible to me fixed it. I tried this option and nothing happend Audio sounds through only the left channel - #2 by Ulf
