I enjoyed it, very nice, has the vibes of Dune Messiah - Lucy Gray if only we could hope for a singer, starting the first apparition of the synth line, which is very well written. I like the “chaotic” harmony marches of around 00:50 workspretty well.
Thanks for positive feedback.
It’s always trial and error when crafting a track. Sometimes I come back fresh the next day and change things but other times not. I really liked the first synth when I scrolled thru the menu and had to have that.
I’m always one for a groovy piano goove. And in that context it certainly delivers… I’d peronally lose the open HH count in - adds nothing really IMO. I did feel like it needed more of a lead melody on top though - most of it just sounds like a backing track. Some really nice chordal shifts in this though… very cool. Orchestral swells etc… and then… it ends? Ouch. Too soon - room for further development I reckon- a solid foundation, but for me… this aint finished!
Hi thanks for the comments. I have always tended to make my recordings around the 2 min mark as I get bored if they are too long. I always think it’s better to want more than think when’s this going to end. They are just a snapshot of inspiration and creative energy at the time. If I had a vocals I would definitely make my tracks longer but my singing is not what anyone would want to hear. ![]()
Fair enough.
I was in the same boat for many years - absolutely horrible voice, timbre, pitch - the works. Just awful by any measure. It wasn’t until I fronted up at some local mic events years ago and subjected myself to the sheer unmitigated terror of singing live. It must of been absolutely horrendous for the audience!
But, over time, week by week my confidence grew and with that so did my vocal abilities. Now, just to be clear - I’m no great singer and never will be but that exposure, week after week for over 10 years did ultimately make quite a notable difference. ![]()
