Assuming the culprit is in the preferences, then I guess the only way is to start fresh with preferences in C8, but keep C7.5 preferences open so you can pretty much visually copy everything over…except for the minor changes in the C8 preferences?

It’s working fine once the mixer is in a state where showing/hiding the channels racks does change its width.
Thus the actual problem seems to be that the mixer changes its width once you show the channel racks.
Will have to be fixed on a maintenance update.
