bow pressure transitions

Hi everyone,

I’m interested in notating transitions between different bow pressures. The two options that I’ve seen in literature are:

  1. black wedges that thicken as increasing bow pressure is desired (as found in Saariaho scores)

  2. boxes that are empty (ordinary pressure), half-filled in black (for half pressure), and completely filled in black (full bow pressure, distorted sound), with dotted arrows showing transitions between them

Does anyone know how to approximate these in Dorico?

The best option is importing a graphic, especially since horizontal spacing will almost certainly vary between layouts and you need something that scales accordingly. This for the the first scenario, since the second option is easier to pull off and the arrows will eventually make its way to Dorico in an unspecified future for generic technique transitions, if I recall Daniel’s statements correctly.
