Bracketed grace notes group

I have a group of four grace notes. These grace notes are optional and I want to show them inside two brackets. Now the only option is to put all individual notes within brackets and end with 8 brackets in stead of two. Is there a option to span the bracketed area over more than one note?

No. But you can create an ‘empty’ line with brackets as end caps.

Not easily that I know of. You could create two notehead sets, one with a left parenthesis and one with a right. Or a Line with a Dashed Line set to 0;0, and a left parenthesis startcap and a right one endcap. Or use Shift-X text.

Here’s a file with the noteheads. (you can edit them to taste)

Thank you and indeed not easy. I expected that this issue occurred more frequently so I thought that I missed the function. Which is not the case. The best option is to build my personal toolkit in the way you suggest. Thank for your reaction.

I finale solved it in a layout dependent way; ‘quick-and-dirty’.

(_______)

In the Write mode I added text; a appropriate font size, opening bracket, some space, closing bracket and go the Engrave mode to move this text to the proper position.

Otherwise the brackets would be according the grace notes size and now I am free to choose the right bracket size.
