Does anyone know the best way of putting “brackets” and note symbols into Dorico? This sort of figure comes up in my work quite often, any suggestions would be wonderful. Thank you.
For the brackets you can just enter your notes as tuplets, but instead of changing the value, just type, 4:4 7:7 etc. this will cause the bracket to appear but it will still take up the same time as the normal notes would since you are tricking dorico into thinking of the notes as tuplets even though their mathematical value is not a tuplet. As for the note values, you will have to hide the bracket text options and then add those back in by hand by copying from the smufl directory and changing the text type from normal to “music text” to allow the symbol to render.
