Breath Marks Problem

Hi - I’m in Dorico 6 and this might be a simple and basic thing, but I can’t find a way to apply a breath mark to just one part at a time. It seems to be automatically applied to all parts, even if I’m viewing the one part I want it on. Can someone please help?

Are you talking about a caesura (which is assigned to all staves) or a breath mark (which is assigned to one staff)?

Assuming that you mean a breath mark (comma), it works fine for me.

Thank you - it works when I do it that way.

Thank you - it worked when I followed @asherber 's way of doing it

Just out of curiosity, what were you doing before that caused it to apply to multiple players? Were you selecting notes in multiple staves, or was it something else?

I was using Shift-B and a comma. I’m pretty new to this, and using ChatGPT for guidance. it’s quick and easy, but sometimes totally wrong, unfortunately…

Shift-B is for barlines.
Shift-H (for holds and pauses) is where a comma can be input.

PS
AI is so far from being 100% accurate that I do not trust it at all.
