Is it possible to let Dorico play a brushes-sound on de drums?
It is possible assuming your library includes samples for the different brush techniques. I use it with Addictive Drums and the VSL Studio Jazz kit.
Here an brush swing Dorico file with only Halion Sonic sound so you must have it.
The percussion map is edited and the drumset has 2 snares, bass drum and hihat foot.
snare 1 is taps, snare 2 is swirls. In the edit percusion kit I added swish, tap and slap to the playing techniques of the snare.
This is not standard notation, I only made it for audio purpose and posted it before I think.

Maarten, , this is also the way I have it in most scores aiming on the audio only. So using all sort of note heads for the different brush movements. On the other hand there are all sort of nice pictograms for those brush techniques. which are in general put above the notes.
Did you ever manage to make those active i.e, using a percussion map? I only managed it by using them as user defined articulations.
To be honest. I see no use for the notation with circles and more. I’m a drummer and have several books about brush playing but that is for studying. For part reading that notation is not useful I think. In the style I play. Mostly jazz oriented, you just notate slash notation and some text with brushes.
I also think there are not many drummers that can read that brushes technique, but that can be my bubble I live in.
So the short answer is: no I never managed to make that technique’s active. 
Maybe I give it a try one day.
