Bug - Activated Keyboard-Keys (difference between software activated key at keyboard)

Dear VST-Live-Team,

I found out that for the the defined keyboard range for a sound is different what I define in the software and which keys are really activated on the keyboard.

Example:

I want to activate a sound for the keys B1 - E2.

But if i configure this exactly in the software the key E2 in inactive.
I need to define in the software B1 - F2 to get the key E2 usable.
But the key E2 is not active. From my point of view the defined keys
in the software should be 1:1 identical with the keys wich are lateron
really activated.

Do you agree or did I missed something?

Thanks in adance for your feedback.

Kind regards

Sam

I always adjust using mouse. But yes, it works like you described.

Thanks Arthur for your explanation,

Would it be worth to change at minimum the learn functionality? It is a little bit confusing to select always 1 key more then you normally need for a keyboard split. Such a scenario would help to change the way of work from “you need to select more then you need” to „you get what you selected / really need“ (via key-Split and / or Virtual keyboard). Via additional „Option Menu“ with standard value “deactivated” the existing user would not be affected / confused and the visualisation of keyboard-Split could be done in a simplified way without changing values in the VST-Live-Database.

This would help to make VST live more intuitive usable and simplify the workflow.

Kind regards

Sam

There is a reason for this but can’t remember what it was. It used to be like you expected before, then some bug report came in and we had to change it to what it is like now.
