BUG: Add VCA Track To Selected Channels Turn Off Read For Plugin Parameter

Hi

I found this:

Open a new project
Add a track
Add a plugin on this track
Write automation for a parameter on the plugin
Select the tracks
Add Vca to the selected track

Result: the automation Read is turn off for the plugin automation

Also:
Turn on Read for this automation lane
Save the project
Close the project
Re open the project

Result: the automation Read is turn off for the plugin automation AGAIN

Workaround: Be sure the Read button on the track header is turn GREEN before adding the VCA or before closing the project. This way, Read will stay ON for automation of plugin parameter

I’m on Cubase 10.5.30 and Cubase 11.0.10
I’ve tried to disable the preference too. Same result
MAC Catalina

Ok,
When I manually write automation on the automation lane, adding a VCA doesn’t turn off the Read button on the automation lane

When I write automation by moving plugin parameter, the R button on the that header doesn’t turn green. Adding a VCA disable automation in this case.

So, the step would be:

Open a new project
Add a track
Add a plugin on this track
WRITE AUTOMATION BY MOVING A PARAMETER ON THE PLUGIN
Select the tracks
Add Vca to the selected track

Result: the automation Read is turn off for the plugin automation

Also:
Turn on Read for this automation lane
Save the project
Close the project
Re open the project

Result: the automation Read is turn off for the plugin automation AGAIN

you have to enable automation write first… this enables read as well
if you don’t do this, no automation gets written…

I was assuming that people would have done this, my bad

So, the step are:

Open a new project

ENABLE WRITE ON THJE PLUGIN GUI
WRITE AUTOMATION BY MOVING A PARAMETER ON THE PLUGIN
Select the tracks
Add Vca to the selected track

Result: the automation Read is turn off for the plugin automation

Also:
Turn on Read for this automation lane
Save the project
Close the project
Re open the project

Result: the automation Read is turn off for the plugin automation AGAIN

What the hell are you writing?
If you want to read automation you have to enable read on the whole channel… it is not enough to enable it on the plugin or just one automation lane.

It has nothing to do with VCA faders.
