Workflow
- Set up a section player with occasional divisi. Select Condense divisi in Layout options.
- Add some manual condensing changes.
- Change any property in the Edit instrument definition window in Setup mode.
Result
The condensing change signposts will still be there, and checkbox for the condensing group is checked, but all toggle switches will be turned off.
Is this the intended behavior? I also tested the above steps with two condensed single players, but then this issue does not occur. Both are in the mockup document below.
I ran into this when I had to change the Show transposition setting for a particular instrument (a flugelhorn section in a Dutch fanfare band setting - no I’m not writing “Violins in C” or something like that
). This resulted in all condensing changes being whiped out. I also had to to hide all player labels again after restoring the condensing changes. I usually just use voices when the divisi aren’t very complicated, but for this project I thought I’d give the divisi function a try. Which really was a great idea until I ran in to this little surprise. Couldn’t find this being reported earlier and I suppose it’s a bit a of a unique sequence of steps, but I thought I’d report it anyway.
