BUG: Cubase 13, adding mixer elements (such as Strip) does not updates a mixer configuration

When using mixer configurations, the following behaviour happens, at least in Cubase 13.0.55.

I have different mixer configurations. Say, my mixer was configured without Strip or Eq (so, in each channel, after Inserts there are Sends, top to bottom).

I have decided that I want to see also the Strip section. I add it with the top right menu. This does not trigger that the configuration has been changed (so, the Update Configuration command is disabled).

Now, if I switch to another configuration and back, the Strip section is not there.

But if I add the Strip section and then do something like adding a new channel to the configuration, then the configuration is marked as changed (with the asterisk), the Update configuration command is enabled, and I can update the configuration. After that, the Strip section on each channel is there when I switch to this configuration.

Expected behaviour would be:

  • to mark the configuration as changed when I change the list of enabled channel sections
  • to update the configuration automatically
  • to keep the list of enabled channel sections as global, so it always the same for all configurations (probably, not the best)

I’ve noticed similar behavior myself. You can work around it by hiding and then showing a channel in order to be able to update your Visibility Configuration.

I recommend you add the “Issue” tag to this topic.

Yes, I have written that this is how one can update a visibility configuration, therefore, overcome the bug, so it is definitely not a showstopper.
