Bug, Cubase 15.0.20 - Mixer Visability settings

there is a bug in Cubase 15.0.20 in the mixer view, left panel visability settings

i work alot with folders in my projects

in the past, it was able to turn off/on visablity of folders in the mixer view even if the folders were collapsed in the list.

with the latest update of cubase, this is not working anymore, its only working when the folders are expanded, and this will a huge list in bigger projects with lots of tracks, i would love to be able like in past versions, to have my folders collapsed an still be able to turn off/on the visibillity in ther mixer view.

all my instrument groups are in folder tracks, i have
Drums
Guitars
Vocals
Bass
Production
etc

with that, i can easily toggle between different instruments sections in the mixer with just 2 clicks, this is not working anymore, only if the folders are expanded and showing all the tracks and you need to scroll through all of them :frowning:

Hi,

I read similar report… Could you try at Mixer 2, 3 and 4, please? Is it also the case?

Does it apply for all folders, or just the new type?

thank you again for the quick reply,
yes, its also on mixer 2 3 and 4

also i noticed, if there are subfolder within the folders, the checkboxes also wont get applied until the subfoldes are expanded too

it does apply to all folders, the new one groupfolder and also regular “classic” folders

I think this new behaviour was chosen because with the new group-folder we have the option of a folder being displayed in the mixer. So we have three states for a new group-folder and it´s content:

  1. open–> folder and content visible in mixer
  2. closed–> only folder is visible in mixer
  3. hidden-> nothing visible in mixer

But this concept doesn´t make sense with a regular folder now, because there is no difference between closed and hidden, due to the fact that regular folders are not shown in the mixer (and never were):

  1. open–> folder and content visible
  2. closed–> nothing visible
  3. hidden-> nothing visible

Yes. But the behaviour by default is illogical now. See my similar post here:

Have you enabled “Sync Project and MixConsole”? If this setting is disabled, you should be able to control visibility independently. Does that solve the issue?

No… When you disable sync, folder expand/collapse remains in sync. Is that what you expected?

Found a workaround that solved my issue, not sure if it solves yours.

Create a “rack instrument” VSTI - this will create an “rack instrument folder track” which has the old foldertrack behavior. So I was able to put my instruments/stuff in that “oldstyle” folder, collapse it within the project window and still able to see the tracks in the mixer.

thanks for all your replies, the “Sync Project and Mixconsole” has nothing to do with it

i rolled now back to cubase 15.0.10

here is how i work:

all folders in the project are collapsed, this is what my mixer screens are looking like, its in sync with my project, if i expand a folder in the project, its also gets expanded in the mixer view visabilty tab, thats fine. but i usually keep my folders collapsed.

now i can easily choose with the :check_mark: which folder contents i want to see in the mixer and which not:

and this feature is broken with the update of 15.0.20, you cannot make channels visible with the :check_mark: if the folders are collapsed :frowning:

those screenshots are made with cubase 15.0.10

Yeah this definitely needs some TLC. This is not the only issue the new folder group has caused. It makes no sense to not have regular folders show as normal in the mixer or sequencer window.

Also, MIDI tracks are not showing their proper icon in the mixconsole windows.
