So far I still don’t have access to the device, which may be due to the holiday season; it’s my first working day as well. I already asked our headquarter if the device has arrived, but got no response so far. Apart from sending the device to Steinberg, I haven’t heard any new findings from Studiologic.
@trane26 Do you have Cubase working MIDI 2.0 in normal or Low Res mode?
First it worked in low res mode, than something changed. Now it doesn’t work either way.
In the meantime, my trial of Cubase 15 has expired.

My 5 cents to the issue. All my midi setup doesn’t work in C15. It works in C14, Logic, Pro tools well.
I use Unitor 8 USB. Midi Remote Behringer x-touch mini does’t work too. All ports of both devices are shown active but no input and output signals in C15
Is it only the MIDI 2.0 devices that don’t work in your setup or also the MIDI 1.0 devices? If the latter then you’d be in the wrong topic.

In case it helps, and cc @JRoeper the Studiologic SL73 I have here appears to be sending regular bad data when in MIDI 2.0 mode. In MIDI 1.0 mode, it’s fine. I’ve updated to latest firmware, and reached out to see if I can find a contact at Studiologic.
Getting a ton of these
Which has a NOOP opcode, but a random last byte value of 0x10. It’s coming frequently like a clock message, but it’s not formed correctly as a clock message.
Edit:
Note on/off data seems to come through fine. (word 0 in green, word1 in red)
If the SL works on macOS when in MIDI 1.0 mode, this may be the cause.

Thank you for these findings, Pete! I’ve sent you the contact details of the related persons at Studiologic.
We ordered another SL Mk2 from a shop in germany (the first one is still lost somewhere at UPS). It arrived wednesday (two days ago). I’ve checked it immedeately in a debug version of Cubase 15. I noticed some strange properties in the macOS representation of the SL Mk2, which I then reported to my contacts at Studiologic. Yesterday they sent me an (unreleased) updated firmware for it. With the new firmware the problem in Cubase 15 is solved. SL88 & 73 Mk2 do work in MIDI1.0 and MIDI2.0 mode with this firmware. When Studiologic releases an updated firmware to the public, this issue on macOS with SL Mk2 should be solved. Thanks.

@JoPiano I suggest that you wait until Studiologic releases the next Firmware update to then request another Trial activation from our Support (referring to this thread).

now the new firmware (1.09) is installed on my SL88GT Mk2 and yesterday I got another two weeks trial period for Cubase 15 and so I could test again. But it’s all the same as before. Same project loaded in C14: everything works as it should. I can play all Vstis. Loaded in C15: not a single note on command reaches the Vsti. And it also doesn’t matter, if I use Midi 1.0 or Midi 2.0 on my keyboard. I already reinstalled C15, but no difference.
I don’t want to go back to Logic Pro, but if future versions of Cubase don’t work together with my hardware, I would have to.
Hi @JoPiano. I haven’t tried 1.09 yet. I only tested the prototype firmware they sent me. If your problems persist, I can check 1.09. But before doing so, please follow this procedure:
Hope that helps. If the above procedure isn’t done, MacOS may keep some information about SL88 Mk2 that is outdated with the new firmware.

Thanks for the tip, but it changed nothing.
@JoPiano I unpacked the device again, put in the new Firmware 1.0.9, checked that it’s setup to do MIDI2.0, connected it to Cubase 15.0.6 (I’ve checked a more recent version as well) on my Mac. It worked right away. I have a SL73Mk2 here, but Studiologic confirmed to me, that it doesn’t make any difference if it’s a SL73 Mk2, a SL88 Mk2 or a SL88GT Mk2. I’ll send you PM with a link to a short video showing it functioning. I don’t see any problem here with the new firmware.
