Bug? in Export Filename Recipe if special characters

It looks to me like there is a bug in Dorico 6.2.30.6245 (May 29 2026), in the Export Filename Recipe, when running in macOS 26 or 27. The trigger is apparently special characters in the project filename. As you see in the attached screenshot:

Project Filename: ¿A Quién Iremos? (Mejía)

Layout name: Gt

Recipe: $f - $l

Actual Result exported (and shown in Preview field):

¿A Quién Iremos- (Mejía) - Gt.pdf

Expected Result:

¿A Quién Iremos? (Mejía) - Gt.pdf

Attempting to work around the issue by using the project filename explicitly in the recipe, instead of $f, does not help.

Not a bug, but a feature!
Dorico filters out characters that might be forbidden on some filing systems or confusing on command lines.

The “?” character is forbidden on NTFS and exFAT / FAT32; and represents a ‘wildcard’ in Unix. It’s not a good idea in filenames, I’d suggest.

Yes, if I use the upside-down question mark ¿ instead of the question mark ?, no problem.

Well its only ‘?’ that is illegal in filename paths. The upside down character is OK. This is not a Dorico issue. Much as it is nice to use your own language for names, with the computer you have to compromise a little.

Dorico 6 (but not Dorico 5) filters out text tokens included in file names. This change from D5 to D6 is an inconvenience where layouts of the same music with different clefs include the clef tokens.
