Bug in importing multiple markers on same position?

Hello,
I ran into a problem that when importing multiple region-markers via xml, some start- or endmarkers will not be present in the montage, even if they are correctly written down in the xml file.
This happens, when their exact timestamp is already used by another marker.
In the attached screenshot, the second end-marker called “Name>Kommentar|Allgemeines|docxTC07S
40 mn 8 s 0 ms
115584000“
is not to be found in my montage after importing.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Thank you and all the best!

At first sight of your picture, it seems that two markers are located at the same position. In this case, only one is imported

Thanks PG,

but is this really, how Wavelabs should behave?
Within my collaboration there are audioevents that have more regions ending or starting at the same point. Having some regions loose one of its markers and then beeing no region anymore is quite problematic in my workflow. I see no scenario where this behaviour can be helpful.
Do you think, this could be changed in a future Update?

Thanks and all the best!

+1 to Simon’s point. Some DAWs, like Audacity, treat CD track boundaries as pairs of stop/start markers, each located at the same position. Maybe they shouldn’t, but they do, and importing work from one of them makes for trouble.

In Wavelab, I often create error or correction regions where the stop/start markers between two adjacent regions fall at the same location, or where a generic marker exists at the same point as a CD track break. So I don’t think that Simon’s situation is unusual.

WaveLab only imports one marker per position, so if multiple markers share the same point, the others are ignored. This is intended behavior, though it can cause issues when regions or CD track boundaries overlap. Future updates might improve handling, but for now, overlapping markers must be adjusted manually.

Yes, I’ve changed it for WaveLab 13.0.20 (not 13.0.10).
More exactly, when importing markers, WaveLab will allow several markers at the same position if either their type, name or comment are different.
Currently, markers of the same position are possible if their type are different. What I have added is an additional test about their name and comment.
But I don’t want to add the possibility to have strictly equal markers at the same position.

Thank you PG! I really can’t express how grateful I am for your ongoing fast support and troubleshooting!
Best
