It’s a little thing, but changing the value box on some places do not save the value direct. Switch and go back to the textbook works. See GIF example from Layout Options / Vertical Justification box:
You need to move the focus away from the spin box control to another control in the dialog, e.g. simply by hitting Tab after changing the value, before you confirm the dialog or click Apply.
