Bug? Midi-Thru enables automatically

I have a setup with a Midi-keyboard and prefer to have the sound not come from Dorico. The reason is that I found myself limited by the ranges of the instruments I was writing for - whatever instrument I last edited determined the available range when I wanted to try out something on the keyboard. So I have disabled MIDI-thru in Dorico and use HALion Sonic so I have a piano sound regardless of the instrument I am writing for.

Since the latest update of Dorico I have found that after I have been working a while on a piece I start getting sound from Dorico again. In preferences MIDI-thru is still shown as disabled, but if I enable and disable again the problem disappears for a while but then comes back again. It seems that activating another window on the computer (I’m on windows 11 btw) and then going back to Dorico and clicking any note in the score triggers this behaviour. Clicking barlines, signposts etc. will not trigger it.

This is driving me crazy - could be a windows thing off course, but it started with one of the latest updates of Dorico.

Hi @Violin-Joe , this is a known bug and a fix will come with the next Dorico update.
