Bug: Playback stops when I enter new notes

Scenario:

  • Multiple instruments tracks with MIDI information.
  • During playback I may add notes to an instrument track expecting playback to continue as usual

Problem:

  • As soon as I add notes, playback for all other tracks goes silent, even though the transport is still playing.
  • If I pause and play again, the tracks are still silent.
  • Audio doesn’t return until I manually place the playhead somewhere and then play again. I restarted my computer assuming it would resolve it and it did not.
  • This has happened on 3 different projects.

When it comes to reporting bugs, is this forum the best place? I think some years ago I was directed towards a chat or something. I don’t recall. This particular bug is driving me crazy.

Is the forum the definitive place to report bugs? I ask because sometimes (with other companies) the issue reporting system includes 1) a confirmation that it has been received and 2) possible trouble shooting responses.

This issue is such a nuisance that it seems I can’t use Nuendo now.

How exactly do you add the Note?

What I can imagine… The Solo Editor is enabled in the (Key) Editor. The focus is in the Project window (therefore, the Solo is Suspended). Once you click into the (Key) Editor to add the Note, the focus moves to the (Key) Editor, so the Solo becomes enabled.
