BUG Plugin Routing resets unnoticed

Hey Community,

I got a really nasty bug, because it does not show itself if you are not paying attention.

The following steps are described with certain plugins, the brand or type does not matter fwit:

I got a 5.1 Group in which I insert a frequency in mono Mode and Route the Plugin on the LFE channel to cut everything above 120Hz. I route a pink-noise to the group to check if everything works fine. It does.

I save and close the project, open it again and the nois is heard in fullrange on the lfe channel, but the LEFT Channel is cut to 120Hz. Opening the Routing Editor of the Plugin shows the plugin routed to the LFE Channel. After switching back and forth one channel or deactivating/activating it, the effect is inserted in the correct LFE Channel again.

This happens every time when reopening this project.
I cannot reproduce this with an empty project, this only happens with my big feature mixing project.

On the same project I once had a similar issue, for which I found a workaround and because of time limitations did the workaround and never got back to this again. I think it is the same bug. It goes as follows:

I have several Plugins on my 5.1 Dialog Group (about 8). I spread them a litte to have room between them to easy stuff new plugins in between I necessary. From one day to the other (or maybe with the introduction of N14?? never checked, could be) the last 4 Plugins started to not do anything. I had some of them also only routed as mono on the center channel. After deactivating/activating them they workd until I closed the project.

This behaviour started on plugins after the 8th slot, so I condensed them to the first 8 slots… → the problem was gone. If I wanted to use them spread out the bug persisted, condensed it worked.

Anyone with similar weired behaviour? I did not inform Steinberg about this just yet, since I want to understand the problem first.

Anyone?

I remember some problem with routing with post fader inserts ( your pre/post Fader insert line, the green one, might be between insert 8 and 9?).

I did not find the thread with a quick search, I will do so and also test myself later on.

Unfortunately, the plugins in the second test were both pre and post with the green bar at like the 12th position or something like that. Only one of the plugins were post. I would have to open up an old project where I got the layout like that still.

So, I found the old post, what I remembered was solved with Nuendo 12.

I am still on 13 now and was not able to reproduce here, so I am not of help…

Sorry for pointing to a wrong direction.

Did you started this big project on N14 or on previous version?

this template is around since N8 I think and evolved

As you can’t reproduce it on brand new session, this could be related to template being created on older Nuendo version. Unfortunately I’ve seen issues on forum with sessions in N14 created even on Nuendo versions (11, 12, even 13)
