Create a single MIDI Track and activate MIDI Insert 1, selecting MIDI Control
Set a MIDI Control, for example for CC64 in Slot 1, Value 0
Save the project
Open the project in Cubase 15: the MIDI Control insert will have Odd Slots (1,3,5,7) set to 0 and Even Slots (2,4,6,8) set to 127, which invalidates the configuration in the file.
What is more, saving the file will result in permanent corruption: the wrong configuration is saved and when recalling in Cubase 14, now you’ll have Slots 1-4 at 0, Slot 5 at 1 and Slots 6-8 at 127
This smells like a data structure range issue to me. Hope it’s useful!
Thank you, I saw that but I thought I’d post with additional testing information and complete steps to reproduce, and specifying that this causes project corruption and data loss (which the other thread does not specify): the guidelines for bug reporting state that it is necessary to provide repro steps, which the post you quoted does not report. Since it’s been there for 11 days with no interaction from Steinberg, I thought a more complete repro report would catch the attention of the teams better.
Let me know if we can un-hide this report as a result, since it’s flagged as off-topic and now hidden.
