One of my rehearsal marks is connected to the visibility of a piece of default text eighteen measures earlier. I’ve attached a video of the bug in action. Fixing it involves pressing undo a bunch of times and then (necessarily) redoing my actions up until shortly before hiding the piece of text. The similar pieces of text at mm. 29 and 20 do not have this effect.
I don’t need a fix—deleting the text rather than hiding it worked just fine—but it was such a strange bug I thought I should report it.
Indeed it is a strange one.
After the initial hiding of the text at bar 11, and the resulting swarm of rehearsal marks at bar 29, try turning Condensing off and then back on again. Alternatively turn Condensing off first, hide the text, then turn Condensing back on.
What’s interesting is that you’re (I think) the first person to provide a project where the issue can actually be reproduced. This might be useful for the team!
Amongst the different solutions to fix it, you can select the frame break at bar 38 and press Shift+F (i.e. reapply it)
Thank you all for your thoughts! I’ll definitely keep those fixes in mind for if it happens again with an object I’m more attached to (I didn’t actually need to keep that particular piece of text). It’s a fascinating bug—I didn’t know it was a known thing, so I’m definitely hoping that my file can help it be fixed!
