Bug report: iPad, scrolling with Apple Pencil lags and jitters

Scrolling in MIDI editors using Apple Pencil 2 is jittery, lags, and at times freezes momentarily. In the video, I’m scrolling up and down with my finger, and then repeating the same motion with the Apple Pencil 2.

Please note that the video is shortened and sped up 2X. I had to do that, because the forum will not allow me to upload files larger than 4 MB. The lagging shown in the video continued after the video ends.

Also, note that this only happens in MIDI editors. Scrolling anywhere with Apple Pencil in the project view and in audio editors works smoothly, even in very large projects.

This has always been an issue for me when scrolling with Apple Pencil in Cubasis MIDI editors, including on my old iPad 9th gen with Apple Pencil 1. But at that time, I thought it was just my hardware lacking performance. However, with my latest iPad, the Pro 2022, 12.9” (which I also used before Cubasis 3.8.5), the scrolling issue is the same. And it’s the same in any Cubasis document I edit. It’s not tied to any particular motion; scrolling sideways, up/down, circles, behave the same.
Also, the more notes a MIDI event has, the greater the jittering is, and the longer it lags. It can then also continue lagging in such a way that if I resize the edit window, the resizing itself will jitter and lag.

My workaround is to simply not scroll in MIDI editors with the Pencil, but switch to scrolling with my fingers, which is easily done without letting go of the Pencil.

iPad Pro 2022 12.9”, Apple Pencil 2, iPad OS 26.5.2, Cubasis 3.8.5 (and previous versions of Cubasis)
