Bug - Unselects tracks when undo

This is a very speciffic bug when I am recording midi tracks.
I have the preference “Enable Record on Selected Midi Tracks” and “track selections follow Event Selection”

If I want to record on multiple midi tracks:

  1. Select the midi tracks (they are now armed)
  2. press record
  3. record
  4. If I want to correct I press stop
  5. I press UNDO
  6. now the tracks are DESELECTED and only the top track is selected.

I do not see why UNDO should UNDO my initial selection. It should only UNDO the recording and bring me back to where are the tracks are selected and ready to record.

There are work arounds by disabling “track selections follow Event Selection” but that is not what I want.

Here is a video of the issue, Cubase 14, mac montery (and confirmed on Sequoia as well)

Hi,

Yes, I can reproduce the issue. It was the same in previous Cubase versions. The “Track Selections Follows Event Selection” preferences triggers this.

Do you know if Steinberg is aware of this bug?

Hi,

Yes, Steinberg is aware of this behaviour.

Great news, thanks for the quick update on the matter.
