BUG: VST Live crashes at import video

I have tried to import a *.mp4 video file into my project as a video track (sample rates match @44.1) and it seems to initially import ok where I see the file in my project for a second, then a screen comes asking “Do you want to import audio from *.mp4?” after which VST Live directly crashes and brings me back to Desktop.
Info from VLC on the codec:
Stream 0

Tested on VST Live 2.2.10.300 and 1.4.75.921

Any tips on what else I can try would be appreciated.

Hi! First try update to v2.2.21

If still crashing: attach your crashdump here from:

Hi Felician,
I updated and it crashes, just like the previous version. Can send you the video, if you’re interested

yes, very interested in the video, thanks!

.. thank you. We’ll analyse it.

.. like @musicullum said. It would be very helpful if we could access to the file. If you like you could write me a PM or mail to get infos where I can download the file.

Thank you,
Michael.

Thanks a lot for the file. It is a format we don’t yet support, but are working on it.
Of course we fixed the crash for the next version, you will be presented a warning instead.

Hej musicullum,
The crash is fixed with a warning, but is still want the use the video. “No supported video content”, so which are supported en which not??

This is an AV1 type we don’t yet support. We’ll update, but that may take a while, sorry.
You should be able to convert this to a more “suitable” format though. “mp4” unfortunately means nothing as it is a container format which can contain almost anything. But you should be able to convert it to a more “regular” mp4 format (e.g. H264).
