Bug with templates

I’m sad to say that I’m seeing more bugs in Cubase Pro 15 than I remember the last few versions having at launch, but nothing showstopping at least.

But the template saving and loading has an obvious bug. I started to create a template I think the same day Cubase Pro 15 was released. It was a regular project, but every once in a while I would save it as a template to test that it would work that way.

The first time I saved it as template, I got this dialog:

So I gave it the name “Seb’s Template”, clicked OK and it saved it at

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 15_64\Project Templates\

Today I made several changes to this template, and saved it several times. But at one point, the “Seb’s Template” didn’t show in the list of templates anymore. So I named it “Sebastian’s Template”.

Well, the next time I saved the template, both names appeared on the template list. I mean, in the dialog above, the first area where the custom user templates are supposed to show.

But later on, again I had no names on that space. Other times, only one of the two names would show up. So it’s a rather weird bug. Both files are in that folder.

I also encountered this problem. After the first save, it was displayed, but after the second save of the template with the same name, it disappeared. So you need to save it for the third time. When you save it for the third time, you can see that there is no “second template” in the template box, but it will remind you whether to overwrite it. Select overwrite to successfully save it

I noticed this problem too. There is something wrong with this categories. Somehow it filtere out. At one point I had all templates doubled. Not good at all.

Hi,

Are you all on Windows, right? I am unable to replicate the issue on my end on a Mac.

Hi,

Hi Martin,

Just an FYI–I ran into this issue today for the first time on MacOS, and found another workaround (that worked for me at least):

I went into Hub Settings, toggled the already-checked checkmark for Templates under Projects and User Locations, and the list of templates was restored immediately.

I spent a few minutes trying to repro, but didn’t manage to break it again.

I was hoping this would be taken care of in the first update, but nothing. Even worse, I just saved a project as a template, and it’s not showing on the hub. If I filter by user templates, I see nothing at all.
