Is it possible to buy the Dorico 6 update on a Windows PC on which an earlier version has not been installed and then install the update on a Mac on which Dorico 5 has been installed? I don’t use my Mac for credit card purchases.
I don’t see why not… You could even buy it on a phone.There’s no Dorico version for a phone…
You will receive a code that you will use in the Steinberg Download Assistant on the computer you use. Maybe your Mac has access to your emails?
Dorico 6 installs as an entirely new application – it doesn’t install over the top of Dorico 5. So this should be fine.
Yes, @MarcLarcher and @asherber are correct. The license is updated but will allow previous versions to run if you still need to run Dorico 5 or earlier (up to the eLicenser era).
Just to double check. So it doesn’t check the computer on which one orders for the presence of a older version of Dorico before it allows the update?

No – the check is made when you apply the code to your account.

As @benwiggy says, eligibility for redeeming an update code is linked to the presence of a Dorico 5 license in your Steinberg ID account.
