BWF metadata

Dear sirs,

we are considering Wavelab for an important preservation project involving the digitising a large amount of analog open reel tapes of high cultural value. We have been testing a demo in order to check the suitability of Wavelab for our project and trying out the workflow for creating BWF 96K / 24 bit digital master files with BWF metadata. We now have some questions related to the metadata fields of the BWF files ( chunk). I appreciate if you could help us to clarify the following:

Is it possible to have Wavelab automatically set the OriginatorDate and OriginatorTime every time a new file is recorded? We would be interested in having Wavelab automatically update those fields with every recording (creating named files) without having to manually update the time after each recording. Is this possibe?

Is it possible to access the BWF fields using the built in scripting language? for eg. to automatically generate a new random string in the BWF metadata field OriginatorReference, every time the record button is pressed?

Many thanks for your kind support.

Unfortunatly, no. This could be implemented easily, though.

Again, no.

In next major version, we plan to give better support to meta-data. These requested features are noted and will be most likely present.

Philippe, many thanks for your quick and clarifying responses.
