Im currently running a mix where i have a Kick Drum bussed to a Kick Bus group track then a Drum Bus group Track. If i place a gate on the kick audio mono track and bypass it then the audio mutes itself, has anyone had any similar issue? (Probably a noob setting problem but ohwell!)

Do you use Channel Strip Gate, or plug-in Gate? Could you try to remove it and insert it again?
Do I understand you right, the Gate sits on the source Audio Channel, right?
