C-12 - Presets Location/Folders for Save/Load Not Consistent

LOAD - Folders not showing up (no up arrow)

SAVE (sometimes LOAD) shows access current folders

Going up one level with the up-arrow shows current folders

Cubase Pro 12 (will be shifting over to 14 soon)
Kontakt Komplete 14 (and other VSTi)
Windows 10

Much like I had a “math block” in my youth, I have one with saving NI Kontakt VSTi and some others, so I tend to use the Cubase presets save/load.

I started organizing them in folders as shown above because I have too many unrelated VSTi presets in a default folder over the years that gets really confusing.

However most often I can’t access those folders (up folder directory arrow missing) as shown when wanting to load - and also at times save a preset. Seems somewhat inconsistent.

I can use Windows Explorer and just create more folders and organize them further that way, but:

1. Those folders may still not show up in Cubase when trying to load or save as is happening now.

2. Moving them manually into their respective folders through Windows Explorer will freak out those VSTi out because the presets are no longer in the messy default folder. Re-loading those will get really tedious.

It’s embarrassing to have this disorganization, but worse is how it cramps my workflow.

Suggestions?

Bump with a twist:

Is there a way to have all such individual fx and VSTi presets organized and accessible through the Media Bay instead? If so, how does one do this?

MONTHS LATER… in case someone else got stumped by this issue:

Never got a response here but did finally figure out a solution in terms seeing all the seemingly scattered .vstpresets over many years. Using MediaBay’s search mode. This way nothing is nuked or lost but one can find and use them.

Having these in chronological order helps – as in this example for my Kontakt 7 ones. I just found about this approach and I have a lot of work to do in rating the good ones. But at least I’ve passed the panic zone…

You can also add it as a favorite so they show up without the need to dig through directories

@beerbong - Yeah, probably the only sane way to got. Rate/star the the best and most used, forget the rest.
