C14 and Nektar CS12

I think it’s a newer version…

Previously it was ControlCore_Installer_WIN_1.1.38 Now it is ControlCore_Installer_WIN_1.1.43

the color bug has been fixed

thanks, this time I found it - must have opened an older archive - my bad.

Yes, this was the only fix in this update.

Thanks @Tim Chandler!

SOLVED:

Joined today to this post after having issues with my CS12 and Cubase 14 on Mac.

This link have saved my life.

Now all works fine!

Just ordered nektar CS12 waiting for delivery so cannot get any info feom nektartech.com until I add the serial #.. can anyone give any updates until now on any issues using with Cubase 14 pro latest release windows 11 OS user. I watch the 20 or so video on YouTube and cannot do a deep search on there website knowledge base to see the latest firmware and newly add scripts.. im primarily want to use on waves rack and other 3rd party effects like fabfilter.. also vsti such as omnisphere and machine to control as a plugin.. any info would help until I get my hands on it ..

I just got mine today. Haven’t messed with it but for literally a few minutes.

Right from the start I do not like how Fabfilter Pro-Q 4 is mapped at all. It’s how you see it in video demos where you have a billion bands available to edit but basically just gain, Q, and freq.

I will be attempting to map it so that one button goes to the previous band, another to next band, another to bypass, and the last button I’d like to see if I can assign it to insert a band and a fixed location so that I can add whatever I want without going to the mouse to insert a new band. If that’s not possible I’ll probably map it to listen. For the knobs on page 1 I want control of gain, freq, Q, band type, slope, dynamic gain, dynamic threshold, dynamic attack, dynamic release, stereo/mid/side. At least that’s my thought right now. That’ll cover 90% of what I do on one page instead of only 40% and strung out across tons of pages.

My amp sim plugins are also not mapped very logically for my use. If these two are any indication then there will be much work to do to make it perform the way I would like, and maybe for others too.

It’s a nice feeling piece of kit though.

Funny I just received mines today also  from sweetwater I only boxed dont have time until Friday to install and play around with it.. let me know how you make out.. inwish they a forum for mappings for plugins or forsake could be a market.. its longer than I expected but build quality is good but I haven’t powered on yet and test..

I haven’t bought it but interested in. You described exactly how I want those knobs mapped as well. Let us know if it works as you mapped.

Hope that works!!

Thanks!

Yes, I also changed the Pro Q’s layout. Who needs all the bands, for example? Yes, you can definitely configure it so that you can add a new band, but you have to do it with nectarine.

Here’s my version of the Pro Q 4

FYI, to share/install/back up user map files, the location is ~/documents/Nektar/Nektarine/Mapping Files/Inserts

You will need to restart controlCore after adding/removing map files manually. The ControlCore panel is at //Applications/ControlCore (macOS) or c:/Program Files/Nektar/ControlCore (win).

Thank you this Friday I will install and give it a try.. this is great!!!

Hi Tim,

You guys should add custom user mappings on the blog at nektartech

I wanted to know if there’s any possible way to:

I normally use an EQ on the first insert of each channel (usually Oxford EQ or PA SSL E).

Is there any way to ensure that if I change channels, that insert is always selected? Or could the API be modified and the Cubase EQ (the one on the Channel Strip) be changed to our favorite EQ?

@Tim_Chandler

I don’t have the C12 in front of me, but I remember using selected channel in one of the two user inputs and that way anytime you change the channel the settings came up for whatever childish strip you’re using

On one of the pages, I have access to the GAIN, high-pass, and low-pass filters, and a polarity switch. That works perfectly when I change channels, but I wasn’t able to map my favorite EQ to work like that.

The USER PAGE is the best way to achieve this currently:

  1. Ensure a User page (1 or 2) is active in Channel Mode.
  2. Right-click on the EQ param to map (I used FF Pro-Q3)
  3. Select “Pick For Mapping: [Param_name]” The Mapping Assistant appears.
  4. Move the param on CS12, then click “Apply Mapping” in the mapping assistant.
  5. Ensure the param is highlighted in the ‘Mappings’ section
  6. Click and change the ‘P’ to ‘G’ (global) under ‘Mapping Configuration’.
  7. Still under ‘Mapping Configuration’, set Focus as “Selected Track”.

This should work fine as a way to get instant access to your main plugins params on track change, provided the configuration is as outlined above.

Note: Only 1 plugin should be mapped per user page to keep things simple. Cubase does not store the remote mappings with reference to a plugin, only a generic plugin parma index.

Thanks Tim! I’ll try it later
