C14 and Nektar CS12

I have the same issue

I also received a response from support regarding my problem that the learning mode no longer works.

We haven’t announced the update yet, v1.2.3 is a pre-release for customers who are particularly keen and find it in their accounts. The new webpage is also live:

https://nektartech.com/products/panorama-cs12/

Other improvements for Steinberg customers:-

Tempo assignment and footswitch stored.

Dual pan support (hold shift when using PAN)

metronome gain control (hold CLICK and turn data/menu).

Regarding the learn mode problem you mentioned for insert plugins, this is fixed for the official release version. In the meantime, mapping within Nektarine is preferable.

I’ll say more on the forum once the official announcement is made.

Best,

Hello all,

We have just released ControlCore v1.2.5 which includes significant updates for Steinberg software and now officially supports instrument control.

New features in full

  • Control any instrument in the same way as you can control any insert FX - directly through Cubase/Nuendo.
  • Although many instruments are already mapped, you can modify mappings on the device directly, or for more detailed map edits you can use Nektarine.
  • Full mapped support for HALion, Retrologue and PadShop2 as well as many 3rd party instruments.
  • Scroll VST3 presets - The tempo dial can now be mapped to scroll through plugin presets that have been saved as VST3 presets.
  • Tempo dial and footswitch assignments are now stored.
  • SHIFT+PAN accesses the R-Panner when using Stereo combined panner for better control of width
  • Hold CLICK and turn Data/Menu to set click level

Thanks a lot @Tim_Chandler !!!

Absolutely brilliant controller with absolutely brilliant software support & development, thanks very much.

Steve.

Oh, there’s some tasty bits in there. Many thanks for this update, CS12 rocks!!!

Tim, this is awesome news! I’ve been waiting to get a CS12 (again) for this synth integration. Is there a list of third party VSTis supported?

A! Maze! Ing!

Thank you for this awesome update!

Instrument control! I will buy a CS12 now. :slightly_smiling_face:

My most used parameter in the Cubase Mixer is the channel gain control in the pre section and the filters in the same section. Can somebody tell me if the CS12 is able to control the Cubase Mixer Pre section?

Yes, with the factory mapping by using the ‘Channel’ button, you can get to the pre-filter via the EQ screen.

This gives you LC-Freq, HC-Freq, and Pre-Gain controls and it remains on screen as you move between the tracks so you can stay fixed on that mode as you navigate the project.

Values update on the CS12 as you move between the tracks too.

YES! I’ve even customized it for Quick Controls; I mean, when I press the “CHANNEL” button, I have the PRE gain, polarity inversion, and EQ filters enabled by default. I can select a channel with the mouse and use my other hand to adjust the Gain on CS12.

A big thank you to @Tim_Chandler ! Just one question: what does “Hold CLICK and turn Data/Menu to set clip gain level” mean exactly? Does that refer to the COUNT/Metronome button? Sorry if I’m missing something; on my unit, COUNT + Data/Menu controls the click level. I’d really like to control the clip gain directly. Thanks for your help. Great update!

Great to know! Thanks a lot for you reply!

Thsnks tons of millions for this amazing support @Tim_Chandler

I cannot be more satisfied with CS12.

If you are one of those on the verge and you are not user yet…Take note of this:

Nektar listens to their costumers, they actually work on it, and update their hardware accordingly (and often).

Happy to be costumer and supporter of this company.

I’ve got plenty of their products. They never disappoint.

I completely agree. Nektartech listens to customers and reacts. The Go-To-Manufacturer and product for me.

Yes it does mine too, I presume that’s what Tim meant to say ‘Click’ level instead of ‘Clip’ perhaps?

Apologies if you’re already aware of this, but to control clip gain level you can hold shift and turn the tempo knob which allows you to set the tempo knob to “Clip Gain” mode.

Only downside is that the clip gain moves by 1 dB increments, and the magnifier (M5 button) doesn’t seem to enable fine control for clip gain. Manual says it should work in 0.01 dB steps with magnifier held, so hopefully that gets fixed in a later update.

Yes, i’m familiar with the tempo knob feature. Thanks anyway for pointing it out, @skijumptoes! However, a separate clip gain control would be very useful if the first option is permanently assigned to jog mode or something else. There you go. Just updated it, and already another feature request ;-).

Apologies for the typo, I’ve updated the new feature set post. Clip Gain has been one of the most popular features for sure, we are paying special attention to it as we consider future enhancements.

No problem. Thanks for the reply, Tim … and for constantly improving the CS12. You guys are doing a really great job!
