No, AFAIK the VSTi feature is a “Steinberg-less” effort of NektarTech
Nektar will integrate VSTi support later, so it has nothing to do with Steinberg.
You can use Nektarine to control all VSTi instrument parameters, right ?
I am using the CS12 in Cubase Pro 14 and it works well, except that I can’t open a VSTi instrument window via Nektarine using the Plug-in button. The workaround is to select a track with a non-Nektarine VSTi instrument, press Channel and then ALL tracks in the project will work (i.e. will open the VSTi window including for Nektarine VSTi). You can see the problem described in this short video:

Has anyone seen this problem ?
Your video is not displayed in my Firefox
Weird… I changed the link. Does it work now ?
Just for the record. The firmware crash also occurs when using cubase 14.0.20.
While creating markers works fine (markers + play button) the delete markers function (markers + stop button) does not. Has anybody else a problem with that ?
Yes, same for me.
Yes. The video works now.
So, if I load a project and then try to open Nectarine, it doesn’t work for me either. If I then open another VSTi and then Nectarine, it does open. I don’t think it’s a problem if it only happens after starting a project. Besides, I don’t use Nectarine
I’ll make a video about CS12 and Nectarine in the next few days. It will be in German, though.
I just found out that if you have a VSTi with multiple outputs, you can only control the plugins on the first channel in the mixer. Insert plugins can’t be controlled on channels 2 and higher.
How are we feeling about 14.0.20 so far with the CS12?
Are there any barriers to upgrade from 14.0.10?
Nothing different so far. Seems safe to upgrade.
Well yeah, but in fact I intend to use CS12 specifically to control soft synth parameters (I might do a video too). So it is a big deal for me. Control surfaces are all about workflow, remember ?
Yes. Of course I understand. I don’t use Naktarine because I don’t want to use a VST host.
I use the 8 quick controls for VST. Those should be enough
We think we’ve managed to finally track down and fix this issue. Only had 10 reports so wasn’t easy to reproduce. If you haven’t set up a support case at Nektartech.com, please do and they will be able to help you.
This is a mistake in the User guide, I thought it had been corrected so I’ll chase that up. It’s a Logic feature, not available in Cubase unfortunately - there is no delete markers option
@Tim_Chandler , the PDF documentation of the CS12 is at least since 3 releases of ControlCore from mid of December 2024
