C14 crashing a lot :'( asking for IPS analisis

Strugled a lot with C14.0.10 and was hopeful C14.0.20 will work me better, but crash again after a few mins. Can someone check my dump file, maybe crash is caused by something else then Cubase? Appreciate your help!

Cubase 14-2025-03-12-114336.ips (101.9 KB)

That shows you’re running macOS 12.6.7 which I don’t believe is supported. I presume you’re stuck with that OS for some reason? Not my business, of course, just curious.

Hi @Thor.HOG is that the reason of crashes?

Phylosophy : If it works, don’t touch it😅
Meanwhile checked, you’re right, seems it’s not supported any more :frowning:
Then Time to….

I personally can’t confirm, but I’ve started a “side project” to see how well the o3-mini-high ChatGPT model identifies issues. This obviously won’t work unless people report back and I happen to see it (just something I’m doing on the side) but this is what it concluded:

The provided dump indicates that Cubase 14 crashed due to an invalid memory access (EXC_BAD_ACCESS/SIGSEGV) when attempting a string comparison (_platform_strcmp). This is likely due to a bug in pointer handling—either within Cubase itself or in one of its third-party integrations. A thorough review of pointer usage and multithreading code is recommended, along with verifying plugin integrity.

In the absence of any explicit reference to a plugin, the first thing I that came to mind was that you’ve got an unsupported OS, so I’m not sure what recourse you have. I wouldn’t advise “hey, just upgrade your OS” but it may be something to look at if you want to be supported.

The moderators seem to be really good at passing along these IPS files to SB even when using older bits and OSs (which is wonderful) but not sure what kind of support you’ll get.

All just observations, but if you’re continuing to have crashes, I think it’s reasonable to research if an OS upgrade may make sense for you.
