C14 drum machine - feature request - trigger VSTi instruments

For the drum machine - it would be super helpful to be able to trigger a VSTi, for instance I have a nice drum beat going but the perfect kick is in Backbone - and I would like to tweak or even automate it later. the only way I can think of triggering the kick from a drum machine pattern is by sampling it, which defeats the purpose. So I am forced to have a separate (instrument) track with a midi trigger alongsde my drum machine track. An “external output” in the group view or allowing to pick external instruments from the Instrument button would be a brilliant addition.

Then we could also use something DOM Sigalas 80drums, fully integrated with the stock sounds of the drum machine.

Convert your drum pattern to midi. Use midi drum editor. Using a drum map you can output individually to any instruments in your project.

thanks for the suggestion! But that kind of cancels out what I want to do: writing some nice drum pattern while using a VSTI for the kick / snare. The whole point is creating new patterns and trying them out, having an export step for every pattern kind of breaks the whole work flow.
