Been a user since SX days. I hate to agree with the OP but it’s true.

My mum always told me that if I don’t have anything nice to say, I shouldn’t say anything at all. With that said:

Yes have to agree with the general sentiment being expressed in this thread.

I’ve been using Cubase (or whatever it was called back then…) since the early 90’s. Before that I was writing our radio jingles on a Roland XP-50 which was great until you ran out of polyphony 😉

Cubase and MIDI was a godsend but…I’m currently running a TEN YEAR OLD version of Cubase 7.5. Why? Because I’m tired of all the time wasted chasing bugs in my software which should had been spotted and fixed at beta-testing stage.

Also I see nothing in Cubase 13 which provides enough “value” for me to want to upgrade. Constant graphics updates do not tempt me and I already have plenty of expensive VST plugins which do the job of the default Cubase plugins so why bother upgrading? If it ain’t broke etc etc…

Also 13 is apparently an unlucky number so…but I didn’t want to mention this 🙂

I can’t be the only person that would like a very solid, stable, well optimized DAW. Cubase has gotten worse and worse in that regard since about version 6.5, which was the last version that worked really well for me at low latencies.

That’s only in America. [There are quite a few posts about this number on the forum in other topics!] In Germany - i.e. Steinberg - it’s a lucky number, quite the opposite.

In the UK it’s a Bakers dozen 🍞
They could have left this 13th bun in the oven a bit longer. 🙂

This superstition seems to have originated in Europe and places further East long before the United States existed. It’s interesting.

From what I gather, Spaniards have ‘unlucky’ Tuesday the 13th
And there isn’t a 13th floor in some high rises in Canada
Same with China. Chinese also avoid the number 4 it seems. Along with Japanese.

There was a USA Today/Gallup poll taken back in 2007 which determined that oddly 13% of polled Americans were superstitious about the number 13. And of those only 9% would request a room change if it was on the 13th floor of a hotel.

So not very many really care.
