1 - I need to move text from above the staff to under it, to reduce clutter. I have two lines of text plus a “To Coda” all stacked up.. I saw something about doing that in Engrave mode but that doesn’t seem to be there in C15 score.
2 - As is for jazz charts, the name of the instrument the chart is for goes in the upper left corner of the charts. How do I do that?
Unfortunately I don’t think there is a way yet. Dorico has this in the properties panel, you can set the text position to below instead of above. The equivalent to the properties panel in Cubase is the info bar, but unfortunately it doesn’t give this option yet.
When you make new layout of type “Part”, the instrument name is already there in the upper left corner. It is just the score layout that doesn’t have that (because it is a score that includes all instruments).
2 - the instrument name usually goes where C15 puts “project lyricist”. At least, on my C15, the instrument name appears at the end of the first staff. I tried creating a text for that, but C15 won’t let me move it that far up, and it stays attached to the first note. This was easy to do in C13, because the text fields weren’t anchored. If there weren’t issues with Mxml import / import, I would just export an Mxml to MuseCore or C13 and put the name in. I guess i can make a pdf and put the name in that way with a pdf editor. And this may be a work around for putting text under the staff, not that I like workarounds for bugs..

Like I said, you don’t have to create it. It is already there. You just don’t have a “Part” layout.
The default layout you get is a “Score” layout. It is for looking at all the instruments at once. Think of an orchestral score, you have like 30 instruments or so in the score, if it put the names of all 30 instruments in the top left corner of the first page it would look ridiculous. So you don’t list all the names of the instruments playing a score on the top left of the score layout.
What the performers actually get for playing are parts, that is their part by itself rather than everybody who is playing in the piece altogether. In parts, the instrument name is in the top left corner of the page (as far top left as top left can go) in big text. But by default there are no part layouts. You just have to click the + button in Cubase to add a new part layout to get one and then you will see the instrument name there in the top left corner.

I don’t like workarounds for bugs either, but this isn’t a bug. A missing feature and a bug are not the same thing. The instrument name in the top left corner of the page you don’t have to use a workaround for, that is a built in function. Putting text below the staff is not currently available unfortunately, as I said in my first response.
