C5 File location/missing files (Windows 10 upgrade)

Last night i made the leap of installing Win10(64bit) on an old Athlon 64 x2 based processor. Surprisingly it worked, i made it dual boot and kept the old 32bit XP install just in case.

Anyway, so C5 and all my stuff installed etc etc, i tried to open a project from one of my drives that i save songs/projects to. It opened no problem but it didn’t bring in all the audio files in when the project loaded up. It has the images of where everything should be etc but the files seem to be missing.

Why is this?

I’ve since read on the forum this morning that i can do a Project backup via the file menu, which i’m hoping to be able to do via my dual boot/XP, and then open up via 64bit install.

or is there another way?

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome,

The path to the files is stored as a absolute path. So if you stored it at one system and open it in the other one, the absolute path might be different.
