C8. 5 startup "initializing:Content" taking too long SOLVED!

Hi all,

I did mention this in another thread but thought I’d start a separate one to see if anyone else has this. When starting Cubase, it goes through the usual checks but then sticks on “initializing content” for about 40 secs. I have tried safe startup, tried not loading any plugins by changing the folder names and it’s still does it. Once Cubase loads all is fine and I can work without problems so it’s not really that serious, I just saw people loading in 20 secs in the other thread and wondered if there was something I could do about it.

Hi all

I typed a long explanation here… Then lost it…
The upshot of it all is that media Bay was the problem

Hi all

For those who might have this problem, I had highlighted all 5 hard drives in Media Bay instead of being selective and only ticking relevant drives and folders. I deleted the media Bay file in preferences and rescanned only files and folders containing relevant media files, the startup time I now down to 25secs, much more like it ought to be
