If an audio export of a project is taken using non-realtime export then any VST instrument tracks with mute automation are missing from the export if the cursor happens to be in part of the project where the track is muted. Realtime export works fine. To replicate :
- create new project
- create a VST instrument track and record some notes
- add mute automation to part of the track
- leave the cursor in part of the track when mute is on
- audio export the file in non-realtime mode to a wav file
- file is just silence
- repeat in realtime export mode and the file is as expected
