Thanks for that. It worked for me. Here is an addendum: The waveforms disappeared after I had been doing a lot of messing about with my project, including importing old version of the track to get the waveforms (which disappeared with further tweaking of track). This has happened to me before with 9.5 and must be a bug. When I applied this trick to a set of separated events on the track, the gain processing seized. When I bounced all the events to create a single new file, the gain trick worked and the waveforms reappeared. Hopes this saves others half the buggeration this problem caused me.

I am realizing I have this same problem. New to Cubase and love it so far. When I drag projects in, audio waveform appears. When I freshly record something, nothing shows up. Wondering if anything every happened with this.
The issue mentioned here was fixed in 9.5.10 (as described above) If you’re already using that version or higher and are still seeing a problem then it’s something different that’s causing it.
It can be corrupted .peak files.
They reside in the Images folder inside the project folder.
I upgraded from 9.0 to 9.5.0 a night or two ago, and it has been frustrating.
Issues:
- Upon launch, I get prompted about missing licenses for two vst instruments that (to my understanding) were supposed to ship with 9.5 - a drum pack as well as some sort of synth pack. I just uninstalled those modules, and a now am getting prompted about some electric piano.
- Out of nowhere, one of my projects crashes every time I try to use it. Sometimes it’s 5 seconds in, and sometimes it’s 5 minutes, but it consistently happens.
- Lastly…and why I am on this thread in particular…the waveforms are no longer showing up on new recordings. The old ones are there. I’ve read in here that this was installed with 9.5.10, so I just installed 9.5.30, but I am still not seeing the waveforms. How do I force this to get rebuilt?
The waform bug is seriously annoying. I deleted my profile and it “solved” the problem but I lost all my config settings… One week later the issue is back, I’m getting tired of this.
