Can Expression Maps play two articulations at the same time in the same mid part?

Hello guys,

I have one Kontakt patch with key switches, for example staccato and legato. I made a simple Expression Map for them, and both articulations are set as Attributes. Now I have one midi part where the higher notes should stay staccato, while some lower notes that overlap in time should play legato. When I assign staccato in ,the articulation lane, to the higher notes, that works. But when I try to set the overlapping lower notes to legato, Cubase doesnt change only those notes. It also affects the other notes in that same time area.

So my question is: On the same Kontakt patch and in the same MIDI part, can overlapping notes play different articulations through expression maps? Or with a normal keyswitched patch, is that not possible, meaning I need to split the notes to another track/MIDI channel?

Hi,

You would need to use multiple MIDI Channels for the MIDI Notes and the Expressions. Then you would need to set the Output MIDI Channel to Any.

As you send all the data at one MIDI Channel, they are applied to all data.
