I got Cubase 6.5 and would like to exchange projects with my guitarist. In the moment we exchange “wav files”, because he uses Samplitude. As I need a new interface too I wonder if the Steinberg UR 44 bundle would be a nice solution. It comes with Cubase AI 7 but I do not know whether it can read Cubase 6.5 projects too.
Especially in the pre-mastering phase we don’t need maximum versatility, just basic settings like reverb and compression. The final mix can be done with Cubase 6.5, but it is not applicable to exchange the dongle for every new track.
Is there a “compatibility mode” between AI7 and Cubase 6.5 that we could use?
