Can I hide the frame chains in Dorico Pro?

I’m touching up the details of a fairly complicated layout, and the frame chains (which I don’t need) are in the way. Can I hide them, at least temporarily?

Hello @AliceBrinRenken

I hope it helps!

Thanks for the suggestion, but frame chains are not on the list of objects that can be hidden.

Alice, please provide a screenshot of the things you want to make go away…

Are you talking about these blue boxes?

First of all, if you give the instructions from the manual a try, you’ll see that they do indeed hide those boxes.

But also, if those are the main things in your way, they only display if you have the Frames tool selected. If you select, for example, the Graphic Editing tool, you won’t see them anymore.

Yes, it’s those blue boxes. And I have to use the frames tool, because I’m moving some text frames around on the score…

Well, you can grab the frame you want to move and hold down the key to hide non-printing elements, as the manual suggests. Then you can move the frame while you continue to hold the key.

If the default key is not convenient for you, you can assign another, in Preferences > Key Commands. The name of the command is Hide Invisibles.
