Can I upgrade from D5 Pro to D6 Elements?

I know this may be a strange question, but can I upgrade from D5 Pro to D6 Elements ? I may find D6 Elements easier to understand.

I think you would be better off just learning D5 Elements (which you already have) and seeing if that suits you better.

That would be a downgrade and it is not possible.

Aa far as I know you can launch Dorico Pro as Elements by holding the Alt/Cmd key when you start Dorico.

Thank you for both replies. The obvious thing to do is not upgrade to D6 in any form, just go to D5 Elements - Thanks

You’ll have to forgive me, but I’m at an absolute loss how this is a good and obvious thing, unless you’re trying to launch the same version as a student for a tutorial or something… it’s all going to be the same interface, with just fewer engraving options.

I agree.
Bill, you might like to ask specific questions or search here or look through the Learn tab of the Steinberg Hub which should open just after launching Dorico to help navigate and learn Dorico.
The basics are the same in Elements or Pro.

It’s a very friendly forum here and new users have been helped by this forum for many years, so please ask

Also, if you like manuals here a link to Dorico’s user guide, or YouTube videos Dorico here

And the tutorial First Steps is really good.
I often have to learn new software so if there is a tutorial to help get started and learn basics, I try to set aside time to go through it, generally they are (seemingly) “tedious” (because I want to start on my own projects right away) but after I have finished the little guide, I realize I have learnt quite a bit of information. The First Steps is what many here would have started with.

(You might be past this point though, so as above, ask some questions here or follow up on the Learn hub etc.)
