Can I use a "Stack" as an FX channel?

I’m trying to use a Stack outside of the Global Part, but I can’t seem to route it as an FX channel for other audio tracks.

My goal: I have a layer with Groove Agent and drum kits triggered via MIDI from an SPD. I need to apply processing specifically to the Snare channel, which has its own individual output. So far, I’ve only managed to use a Group Bus with an effect loaded on it, but the problem is that this effect then stays active for every song in the setlist and cannot be changed per song.

Can you tell me how to do this correctly? I still can’t figure out how virtual audio works in the context of my task.

Well you’re already ahead of me if you’ve managed to send a snare to a different out :grinning_face:

Think of VA as additional buses. In connections set up a VAIn and a VAOut, both connected to, say Virtual Audio Stereo 1+2.

Send your isolated drum to a new Mixer Out inside GA and set that Out to send to VAOut.

Now add a Stack in your Song that uses VAIn for input, and set the output to say Stereo out. You can then add inserts to it that are only active in the song.

It’ll make your mixer look a bit messy but you can hide the extra out if you want.

I hope that makes sense.

When the group bus worked for you, you can use Song Group, which is the same as a group bus, but only valid for the specific song.

@Prime Am I correct in my assumption that the Group Bus you are referring to is a group within Groove Agent? And you want to to change the effect assigned to it per song/part, right?

A group bus is like a bus in a mixer that has a reverb in the insert and a snare drum is sent to it. Basically an fx channel
