I want to be able to use it to split singer, guitar, drums bass and organ on a track, so that i can analyse it for playing live. If Spectral layers GO, cannot do this, what would people suggest. I saw a Dom Siglaz do a video on separating band and vox, but this was with SL 9 nad jhte menues have changed.
I this possible with SL11 or anything in Cubase 14?
Sl 11 Pro yes. âGoâ ver is, what, the Avid naming?
Cubase 14 itself does not demix because Spectralayers is designed to do those tasks.
How please?
I found out that the Go version does still do a vocal stem and band stem (thatâs all) and you can find it on the right panel, the instruction has moved
SL Go version is stripped down version of SL, so no individual instrument extractionâŚ
The Ultimate Vocal Remover Application
This has demucs models which can extract drums, bass, etc⌠and it´s free
Thatâs incorrect. Spectralayers ONE is the stripped-down version. Spectralayers GO is what Avid calls the full-feature SL Pro for pro tools.
My mistake, god I hate these software namings
I believe SpectraLayers Go is the new name for SpectraLayers One, when it comes as a stripped down version with Cubase as well, since a couple of versions ago. Edit: since Cubase 14 actually.
The version that comes with Pro Tools is also stripped down and called âGoâ.
Now im even more confusedâŚ
Is there a actual list of namings and features? Why there cant be simple 3 versions? Pro, elements and one that comes with softwareâŚ
hahaâŚyeah, a bit confusing until you realize there are only two sets of code and the ONLY set of code that can do stuff beyond voice-only is the choice thatâs clearly labeled âProâ.
And make no mistake, âProâ is never an included bundled freebie with anything on the planet (that Iâm aware of)
Iâm owner of Pro, so doesnât matter, but for newcomers this can be a little distracted.
Maybe sticky thread as first post here on forum.
Back to the context of the OP; IME Unmix Song in SL11 Pro standalone isnât going to deliver usable stems; it never has for me. SL11 Pro is very good at isolating/ unmixing human voiceâŚit isnât perfect, but pretty good
again, like @Phil_Pendlebury always says: SL11 Pro allows for some impressive re-balancing of a mix; but you likely arenât going to get pure, clean stems to solo like you had access to the original trackingâŚI donât know if complete separation will ever be possible; maybeâŚ
Consider trying to unmix a mastered major release; you would never know what the actual tracked solo instrument sounded like, because it has been mastered. Then weâd need an âUnmasterâ moduleâŚhoo my
I have no idea about CuBase
Hi all,
I have had time now, to try alternatives on the Web. Fadr has given me decent results. I tried about ten sites . For my use itâs good enough minimal artifacts and about 95% seperation. It was far better than LALAAI. I think that spectral layers pro is far too expensive so i wonât be buying it. All I am using it for is to isolate cover tracks so I can hear Hammond organ on them. None of them really cope with more than a four piece line up - they just have an âotherâ category. Itâs still amazing we can do this at all, but we are in the Charlie Chaplin days of music tech. AI jhas not really hit us all yet
